Yesterday I finished my process of examining every post in this blog, deleting spam and closing comments. On the one hand, I feel frustrated that I spent hours this week working on the blog yet I was not writing or connecting with others in that time. Despite the price of the victory, I’m glad I was able to clean up this place and prevent further investations of spam. Now comments are open on recent posts only.
It was an excellent exercise, on the eve of BloggerCon, to look through my posts of the past. Most of them I remembered, and many times I could recall the comments too. While I feel I have changed in the time I have written here, I know that that change hasn’t happened in a vacuum, and who I am and what I write has been affected by what I read, in other blogs and in the comments here.
So, please continue to comment. Messages left on this blog are precious to me and important enough that I wanted to be able to restore the function here, even if only on recent posts. I want others to have the ability to speak here, to comment, correct, encourage or disagree. Sure, this blog is mine, with my name on it, but I want it also to be common space we can share together. Please come and enjoy…
and thank you for reading and writing here…

We’re with you 100%. Sorry you had to deal with that massive deluge of horrible stuff. Glad you’re open for feedback again.
