Our walk in Bainbridge Island’s Grand Forest on Saturday reminded me of Robert Frost’s poem Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening. It was neither snowy nor evening – rather it was morning and rainy (a sudden downpour as we exited – perhaps predicted by the sky) but despite the years that had passed since I read the poem, the lines “The woods are lovely, dark and deep” echoed through my mind as the girls and I explored the path.
But I had promises to keep….like making lunch for my husband and getting a nap for my daughter…so we had to go home…
